FAQs
How do online sessions work?
All virtual therapy sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform within Zoom.
Before your first appointment with me, please remember to download Zoom on your computer, table, or smartphone (whichever you’re planning to use for the session).
To make the appointment process as seamless as possible, I use the same Zoom link for every online session:

Do your services include emergency counseling?
All counseling services offered by Glacier Peaks Counseling, LLC operate on an appointment - only basis, as I prefer to build relationships with clients over time.
If you need to get in touch, email erinthomas@glacierpeakscounseling.com and I will do my best to respond within 24 business hours.
For emergencies, please call 911 or the Great Falls Crisis Line at (406) 453-4357.
Can my insurance provider cover session fees?
Yes! Your insurance provider may be able to cover your therapy sessions! Common insurance carries I accept are Cigna, Allegiance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, Pacific Source, or Montana Health Co-Op.
Please note: insurance companies make unforeseen changes from time to time. As a client of Glacier Peaks Counseling, you’re ultimately in charge of any costs not covered by insurance.
What can I expect during my first session?
If you haven’t been to a mental healthy therapy session before, you may be wondering what to expect!
When scheduling your first appointment, I’ll send you an intake summary. This will ask general questions about how you’re feeling, your mental state, your current life circumstances, and so on.
Your answers won’t be judged, but rather create the foundation for your first appointment. We’ll also talk about your goals and what you hope to achieve from you therapy sessions.
After your first session, you can decide in Glacier Peaks Counseling is a good fit for you. If not, I’d be more than happy to refer you another therapist!
